Wednesday September 9, 2020 from 18:30-20:00 CET and recurring for 7 more weeks
Event description and structure
During September and October 2020, AO Trauma offers an online event to 50 surgeons from Europe and Southern Africa and 50 surgeons from Middle East and Northern Africa. The event is a series of 8 weekly online small group discussions (90 minutes each on Wednesday evenings at 18:30 CET) covering content from the upper extremity curriculum. Each week consists of a lecture and a set of prepared cases to be discussed online. Experienced international faculty will moderate the small groups (5 participants with 1 faculty, 10 participants with 2 faculty).
Course goal
Participants will learn the current management of patient pain, dysfunction, deformity, and cosmesis related to trauma of the upper limb (fractures from the sternoclavicular joint to the fingertip).
Target audience
Orthopedic and trauma surgeons with at least 3 years of experience who want to develop expertise in upper extremity fracture care or surgeons with many years of experience who want to update their knowledge (who have completed the AO Trauma Advanced Principles Course several years earlier).
Participants must be able to discuss cases in English and must use a webcam with a headset microphone and have a good internet connection. To receive the certificate of completion, participants must attend at least 7 of the 8 modules.
